In Addition to Our Commitment Towards Excellence Our Advantages

I started my journey in Health and Wellness during my High School Years. I attended Father Henry Carr Secondary School in Etobicoke, Ontario; Canada.  As I approached my university years. I decided to concentrate on studying Nutrition.  My Father had been diagnosed with Diabetes at that time. I wanted to give him honor by entering a profession to help him in managing this disease. I was accepted by University of Toronto.  I then completed a Bachelor of Science, 4yr, Specialist in Nutrition.  I later completed a Masters’ Degree online with Northeastern University, Boston, Massachusetts  And I am currently completing a Certified Program, as an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach from NY NY.

I too experienced health issues which included, lactose intolerance and sensitivity to spicy foods and sauces, for which health education has aided me.

In addition, other members of my Family, including, My Mother was diagnosed with heart disease, my late Brother had been diagnosed with Stroke, & Diabetes and my other brother has been managing his Diabetes as well as attempting to follow a weight reduction regimen.

In terms of work experiences, I worked as a Dietary Manager and as a Food Supervisor in two Senior Homes for the Aged, as well as working in a Hospital setting as a Dietary Aide. I have had 8 years work experience in the health field. Unfortunately, due to cutbacks from the government, I then worked in various marketing and sales positions; my last role as a Customer Service Agent for BMO Bank of Montreal, as a Collector for close to 15 years. I am returning to the health field and hope to make a difference in the community across various life stages.

Along my Journey, I really appreciate the Support I have received throughout my Life from Friends, Co-Workers & Family Members especially My Late Parents; Giacomo R. DeFrancesca,  Franca DeFrancesca,  My Late Brother; Rocco DeFrancesca, My other Brother; Claudio DeFrancesca, his wife; Analyn DeFrancesca, My nephew; Roman DeFrancesca, My niece; Ariana DeFrancesca;  my extended Family, including my husband; Marcello Segreti,  and our Neighbors at Frost Street, for which I grew up over 50 Years. Especially, Rodney Sintes, Domenic Falvo and Teresa Colosimo who have been very close to our family over the years.

DeFrancesca Family History

My Dad, Giacomo Rocco DeFrancesca, was an Engineer who grew up in Italy,  worked in France for 5 years, spoke French fluently, married in Italy, then decided to come to Canada.  He worked in Construction with a unionized company, then decided to parter with 2 other friends and commence a contracting Co.  He was very successful,  however, he developed Diabetes, which he tried to manage, however My Dad passed away at a young age of 64. I miss him dearly and hope to continue his legacy of hard work and humility.

My Mom,  Franca DeFrancesca was a seamstress at a young age, which she carried this talent into adulthood and her Senior Years.  She did sew privately for a few clients over the years.  My Mom loved cooking especially during holidays.  Due to a Fall she had,   3 subsequent knee surgeries.  My Mom lived till the age of 81.  She passed away due to complications of heart disease.  I miss my Mom especially, as we were very close., and visited her often.

My Brother, Rocco DeFrancesca,  was a very kind soul.  He worked as a truck driver for over 20 years.  He travelled across Canada and the United States.  He also had volunteered for over 5 years at our local hospital in Etobicoke for over 5 years.  He had also recently worked for a Disposal Company, picking up Boxes from customers.  He developed Diabetes which he tried to manage.  He passed away at a young age of 53 due to Stroke.  I miss my Brother as well.

My Brother Claudio, is a family man, father of two grown children, Ariana, 24 years of age, and Roman, 20 years age, who is also an aspiring future film Director.   My Brother, did complete a Business Diploma at Humber College.  He has worked with several companies, Nielsen Chocolate Factory and with Walmart Canada in various shipping, distribution and receiving roles.  He keeps busy with his wife and enjoys travelling often to Niagara Falls.

Just a few more words of myself.  I have volunteered as a Cantor in various churches for the last 30 years.  I was very active in my high school and university years, in long distance running and attended many aerobic classes during my university years.  I now enjoy walking and travelling.  I recently visited Israel and generally visit Quebec City on a yearly basis. I married late in my life.  My husband, Marcello has worked in maintenance for the Toronto District School Board for the majority of his life.

I am looking forward to assisting the community in my role as an Integrative Nutrition Health Consultant and Coach. My Family has always been supportive growing up, and I know that my Mom, Dad and my Brother are watching over from above.  Hoping that I can make a difference in the community as a Health Consultant and Coach.
